Triumph at Open Qualifying

June 2021

After getting close in my first attempt in 2019 it was time to give it another go in 2021. Off the back of a win 2 days prior I managed to maintain that momentum into Saturday at Hollinwell and shoot a 69 (-3) to make it into final qualifying.

A win & a course record broken

June 2021

After an opening round of 70 (-1) in the Notts PGA Assistants Championships I trailed by 6 to an incredible 64 from Ben Hall, equalling the course record at Ramsdale Park. In the afternoon a bogey free 63 (-8) was enough to get the win by two and get my scorecard in the clubhouse as the new course record holder. With little time to reflect, my attention was on the weekend for the regional qualifying stage for the 149th Open Championship.

A Win at Radcliffe

October 2020

With multiple top 5 finishes in previous weeks it felt only a matter of time before I'd see my second individual win of 2020. It came in some tough conditions at Radcliffe on Trent in the Notts Alliance on the 14th. A steady performance tee to green meant only a few putts needed to drop to take a win by one.

A Win at Celtic Manor

August 2020

The Twenty Ten and the Roman Road played host to the GolfingDays National Golf Club championships. My team of 12 started day one (singles) brilliantly, holding an 8 shot lead going into the final day (pairs). Some tough decisions to make for the pairings I would send out the following day but some great scores in the toughest conditions I've played in this year. Me and my partner Pete managed the best score of the day (41 points) to secure a 14 shot victory for team Norwood.

Top 5 at Coxmoor

August 2020

A solid finish in the GolfingDays ProAm at Coxmoor secured my first of two top 5's this week. A -3 at one of Nottinghamshires finest stood me in good stead heading to Cotgrave for the final Alliance fixture of the season. -4 through the first 10 holes promised a high finish but some errors over the final few holes meant another 5th place finish.

Open Access Masters

July 2020

Me and 3 of my amateurs headed down to Sunningdale Heath this week for the Clutch Pro Tour ProAm which was followed by the main event for myself, The Open Access Masters. A solid round from tee to green but unfortunately nothing dropped for me to capitalise on some great ball striking. Another fantastic experience and I look forward to playing in this same event in 2021.

Clutch Pro Tour Major

June 2020

The biggest event of my season so far saw me not so far from home at the famous Hollinwell (Notts Golf Club). This was a major on the Clutch Pro Tour and featured some big names, Andy Sulivan, Robert Rock and Charley Hull to name a few.

In some tough conditions I'd managed to steady the ship at +1 through the opening 11 holes. Unfortunately some misses in the wrong spots saw me drop a catastrophic 6 shots in just 3 holes putting me well out of contention. But great experience to play in front of the cameras in such a high profile event.

Clutch Pro Tour Debut

March 2020

I headed to Beau Desert to play in what I hoped would be the first of many clutch tour events this season. With the global pandemic bringing golf to a halt, it doesn't look like I'll be competing back on this tour for a little while at least. But I enjoyed the experience of playing in front of the cameras at this event and look forward to returning.

Victory in the Algarve!

February 2020

After last years pipping at the post this year in the Notts Overseas ProAm my team and I, consisting of:
Rich Foster, John Cooke and Joe Grey managed to secure victory.
The three day event was held at QDL Laranjal, QDL South and the Old Course where we posted -7, -16, and -15 on the final day to win by 6.
Already looking forward to returning to this same event again next year.

First Professional Win

January 2020

At Bulwell Forest in one of the few alliance fixtures able to be played over the winter period I managed a 68 despite a bogey on the final hole to get my first win. Victory made even sweeter by a team win for my home club Norwood.

Clothing Partnership

January 2020

Thank you to Galvin Green and Luxury Golf Brands for offering to support me in 2020.

I look forward to being kitted out in what I've always considered to be the best golf clothing brand on the market.

Mizuno Staff Player Contract

September 2019

Excited to now officially be a Brand Ambassador for Mizuno Golf. I'll be gaming my new equipment for 2020 which includes the MP20 irons, T20 wedges and the new ST200 woods upon release in February 2020.

Like many people, I've always admired this company's ability to make a great iron so I'm looking forward to seeing what else they can offer me throughout the bag. Testing has been extremely impressive so far...

Hole in One

August 2019

During a charity event I held a 'beat the pro, double your dough' challenge on the 17th at my home club, Norwood Park. The last group of the day unfortunately had no chance of beating my ace (hopefully the first of many!)

A close call at Open Qualifying

June 2019

My first time playing in Open Qualifying and I have to say, what an experience! Knowing 71 made the cut last year I was delighted to sink a 15 footer on the last to post 71. Being told to hang on in the event of a playoff I remained in the area but unfortunately my score was pushed out of the top 10 later that day. But I can't wait to give it another go next year.
